Faoin Tuath 2025
Faoin Tuath is a non-profit festival for queer people to connect beyond the city, featuring practical skill-sharing workshops, talks, live music performances, DJs, traditional music sessions, film screenings, shared meals, and much more.
We created Faoin Tuath because we didn't feel something like this exists in Ireland - a festival where queer people can come together to learn practical skills and spend time in nature but also get to socialise in a different type of environment with others, and be inspired and uplifted by queer performance and stories.

People who came last year told us these lovely things about their experience at Faoin Tuath:
“Incredibly affirming and healing.”
“I left it feeling really optimistic about the future of the queer community in Ireland”
“As a trans person I found it so magical to attend an outwardly queer festival and I felt very safe which I often don't experience in social settings. I was sort of overcome with emotion at times because I've never been at such a gathering. It also hit me on a deeper level that queerness is genuinely natural, it’s everywhere. And that’s something that has stayed with me since I've left, experiencing more self-acceptance🧡
“Having spaces such as this gives me hope that I can build a community of queer friends locally.”
“It made me feel I am part of a community”
“It is an incredible relief to be able to mingle with queer people as it is nearly impossible to do so in rural Ireland.”

How to get here and where to stay
Camping and van parking: Available on site for €25 for the weekend. Includes access to our piping hot campsite showers, bathroom and kitchen. Select the add on when when booking your ticket. This year our campsite will be a quiet zone after midnight to allow people to recharge for the following day, with alternative space available later into the site elsewhere on site.
Accommodation nearby: There are many guesthouses and hotels in our area. The closest is Puffin B&B, which is a short stroll away. As it is a bank holiday weekend, we advise early booking and suggest you find places to stay on a site like Booking.com but contact the property directly when making the booking.
Getting here: Faoin Tuath will take place at The Common Knowledge Centre in Kilfenora (Eircode: V95DK38). Details of how to reach The Common Knowledge Centre are available here. Those booking tickets will have the option to join a Whatsapp group to offer or seek lifts.
Please note: We love dogs, but since we have our own animals on-site, we’re unfortunately not able to accommodate visiting pets during the festival. Thanks for your understanding.

Faoin Tuath is a Queer Sheds project
Queer Sheds is a new initiative aiming to address the social isolation experienced by LGBTQ+ people in people in rural Ireland by creating space for community to come together and share space, skills and solidarity with other LGBTQ+ people. Inspired by Men’s Sheds, which have had a huge impact in tackling isolation, non-profit social enterprise Common Knowledge have started with a 6 month pilot in Clare to explore the idea of a national network with the support of Clare County Council, whilst raising visibility, building queer community and seeking to understand the need for this kind of space.
Faoin Tuath Festival and Queer Sheds are proudly funded by Clare County Council and the Dormant Accounts Fund.
