You are invited to join the Common Knowledge team for our August Heritage Day. We will kick off the day with at 11am with a Traditional Food Preserving workshop.
llewyn máire (Savage Craic) is excited to talk with you about food preservation heritage — we'll discuss the history of fermented foods, how we were separated from ancestral skills/ native wisdom and how we can reclaim heritage through our relationship with the land.
We'll also have a more detailed chat about those historical techniques from salt and smoke curing to fermentation and canning, and how we can make use of them in our daily lives.
You can choose to join us from 11.30am for a workshop.
11am - 1.30pm: Preservation Workshop: Learn about this food preservation and the traditional methods for keeping food for the winter months in Common Knowledge with Tabatha Halliday - no experience necessary. If you're staying for the guided walk, please bring a packed lunch.
