Tools For Community Climate Care - Launch Celebration
Share this event
Join us for the launch of 'Tools for Community Climate Care' - part of the Homeworks Community Climate Action Project.
We are hosting an afternoon of community, food, and music to celebrate the launch of the Tools for Community Climate Care - a toolkit which was designed with the collaboration of 33 individuals
representing various communities including artists,
gardeners, writers, community activists and more. The aim of the toolkit is to
support people to identify a climate action to take in their homes and communities, and empower people to
mobilise a community to take these actions.
We are coming together to celebrate the launch of the toolkit, the people involved and all hard work that went to it at Mud Island Community Garden in Dublin City!
During this event, we will shine a spotlight on the people and the community group that contributed to the creation of the toolkit and also some of the groups that made it possible - the NXF (National LGBTQ Federation), Connect The Dots, Bomoko Northern Ireland, Mud Island Community Garden and more.
About the Toolkit
Co-designed onsite at Common Knowledge in Clare over 2 week-long residencies, two groups develop a simple toolkit to empower communities to take tangible climate action in their homes and neighbourhoods.
In the first residency 25 people from the LGBTQ community came together to investigate the intersection between marginalised communities and climate action while also learning practical skills in relations to climate action.
In the 2nd residency 8 community groups came together to test the toolkit, while also practical skills in relation to climate action and now those groups are using the toolkit to develop new climate actions in their own communities.
