We are delighted to announce that Rekindle Festival of Lost Skills is coming to Lisdoonvarna this August as part of National Heritage Week, and we want to hear from you.
Rekindle is a free community festival celebrating living heritage, traditional skills and cultural practice. This year the festival runs across three days – Friday 14 August in Ennistymon, Saturday 15 August in Lisdoonvarna with a tour of the Spa Well and skillsharing workshops at Common Knowledge, and Sunday 16 August with a full festival day in the square.
On Sunday the festival day includes a Céilí Mór, artisan market, craft demonstrations, skillsharing workshops, talks, performances, traditional music sessions and a closing singing session - all taking place in and around Lisdoonvarna town.
We are hosting this public meeting to share our plans and to invite the local community to get involved. Whether you have a skill to share, a storytelling session to host, a talk to give, a tour to lead, or a traditional group who would like to perform – we would love to hear from you. Community groups and businesses are warmly welcome to get involved We are also really interested in connecting with people who have knowledge of Lisdoonvarna's heritage, traditions and local history.
This is your festival. Come along, bring your ideas, and help us shape what Rekindle looks like in Lisdoonvarna this August.
All are welcome! Tea and refreshments will be provided
